Frequently Asked Questions

What if I can't play every week?
You can still participate! During the league season, weekly signups are sent via email. You can elect to play some weeks and not others.
Does signing up guarantee me a spot to play each week?
No. Due to travel, sickness, etc., not all players can play every week. As a result, the league overenrolls players to ensure maximum participation. Be sure to sign up via the weekly email signups quickly to reserve your spot to play.
How do I know if this is the right league for me?
This league is for beginner players. Players come to pickleball with all kinds of different experiences, backgrounds, and athletic abilities. If you're still learning the very basics of the game, this is probably the right league for you. If you have prior pickleball experience, you should probably choose another league such as the Advanced Beginner league. View all the club leagues available. If in doubt, contact the coordinator and ask.
What is a beginner?
Players should be familiar with the basic rules and scoring, but by no means need to be pros. If you've taken an intro to pickleball course such as Pickleball 101, then this is the right league for you. If in doubt, contact the coordinator and ask.
What equipment do I need?
Bring your own pickleball paddle. Although most any paddle will do, if you haven't purchased a paddle yet, I suggest you skip buying a wooden paddle and step right up to a graphite or composite paddle. Be sure to bring and plenty of water/hydration. Sunscreen, court shoes, comfortable attire, and protective glasses are recommended. No need to buy balls–the league will provide them for warmups and play.
Can I play in multiple leagues?
Yes, but not this one. If you are participating in other leagues, then the beginner league is probably not right for you.
How do I pay?
After completing the registration form, the coordinator will review your application and verify your eligibility to play. Then, the coordinator will send you a payment link via email to pay your league dues electronically.
What forms of payment are accepted?
This league accepts electronic payment methods only including credit/debit cards, Google Pay, and Apple Pay. Cash, checks, Venmo, Paypal, Cash App, Zelle, etc. are not accepted.
What happens after I sign up?
The coordinator will review your application for completeness and validity, and will confirm your registration (usually 24-72 hours). Then, you'll receive a link to pay your league dues via email. Once you pay, you'll then be added to the league's mailing list and receive next-steps and updates via email prior to and during the league season.
I signed up for the league but can no longer play. Can I get a refund?
Due to the high demand for participation, all registrations are final and no refunds will be issued.
What is the PCCC?
The Pickleball Club of Chesterfield County (PCCC) is the premier pickleball club of Chesterfield, VA and the surrounding area. This league is sponsored by the club and coordinated by volunteer members. Visit the PCCC website for more info.
